Coldwell Banker Events Facilitated 20,000 Pet Adoptions

For many homeowners, pets are family. Pet adoption has become an integral part of the culture at Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, with agents, staff, and customers welcoming rescued animals into their homes. Now, Coldwell Banker is teaming up with Adopt-a-Pet.com for their third annual Homes for Dogs National Pet Adoption Weekend on Oct. 13 and 14. Hundreds of Coldwell Banker–affiliated offices across North America are hosting adoption events in conjunction with animal shelters and rescue groups in their local communities.

Since the 2015 inception of Coldwell Banker’s Homes for Dogs Project, offices have facilitated more than 20,000 animal adoptions.

“My own dogs have brought so much happiness into my life, and truly made my house feel like ‘home,’” says Chris Cortazzo, a sales associate and global luxury specialist with the Malibu West office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. He’s also the brand’s number one top-performing affiliate agent. “It’s immensely rewarding to be able to give others the chance to experience the joy that a pet can bring to their lives. My favorite part of the day is coming home to wagging tails.”

Cortazzo, for example, is partnering with Paw Works in Camarillo, Calif., to host an adoption event at the Malibu Farmers Market on Sunday, Oct. 14.

“I’m continually amazed by the number of people in our network who have championed this initiative, held local events, and even welcomed adopted dogs into their own homes,” says David Marine, senior vice president of marketing, Coldwell Banker Real Estate. “It has been inspiring to see offices and agents support animal shelters and their communities with such enthusiasm.”

Coldwell Banker’s Homes for Dogs Project has also involved an accompanying advertising campaign. This year the franchise released an ad, “Old Dog, New Dog,” about a young girl and her family who adopt an older dog at an adoption event, which was ranked by Ace Metrix as the highest-rated real estate ad of 2018 and the second highest-rated real estate ad of all time. What was the top highest-rated real estate ad? Coldwell Banker’s 2017 Homes for Dogs spot, “Somebody to Love.”
